Les Dominotiers

Les Dominotiers is the name by which manufacturers of wallpaper are known in French ‘argot’. This brand is famous for creating collections full of charm and features great designers like Shauna Dennison, Vicent Darre, or Zoe Crait, its current design director. This brand offers wallpapers with different inspirations depending on the collection we choose:

Abstraction Collection

It consists of 18 murals made to measure that feature large geometric and graphic shapes and allow for a great number of readings and perceptions. “Many of the murals from Abstraction invite us to meditate. They challenge us with the association of shapes, counter-shapes, and colors, allowing us to create many stories.” The rigor of the geometric shapes is countered by the drawing techniques used: the lines are deliberately irregular, and the gouache and watercolor leave their characteristic elegant strokes. The soft color palette, dominated by terracotta, ochre, gray, and taupe, accentuates this effect. The reinterpretation of geometric and lyrical abstraction is taken even further by Zoé Crait. She associates it with Moroccan inspirations, with designs reminiscent of ceramics and tiles from this cradle of craftsmanship.

Volume 7 Collection

With Volume 7, Les Dominotiers takes us to discover sublime distant landscapes in large-scale murals ranging from 5 to 7.50 meters. The motto of this new wallpaper collection is exoticism, inspired by beautiful corners of Indonesia, Oceania, India, the Mediterranean, and even the Amazon. The techniques used are multiple: graphite drawings, gouache paintings, or watercolors. Some of the murals were drawn with great delicacy and attention to detail, while others reproduce the effect of traditional plate printing, a technique used in the production of panoramic wallpapers in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Textures #Brut

Les Dominotiers, with this collection, has chosen to highlight worn walls, with rough and aged textures, pure reflections of the passage of time. Each wallpaper can tell its story over time, where the layers of the walls are revealed one after another, giving a unique aged appearance where cracked frescoes, raw concrete, or worn woods are the true protagonists.

Moris Collection

Moris is the name in Creole for the islands of Mauritius. Through colorful designs, the brand transports us on a unique journey to the heart of this cultural and natural jewel, far from the clichés that characterize this archipelago, which offers much more than paradise beaches. Les Dominotiers wants to convey in these wallpapers the diversity of Mauritius, with all its influences and nuances. The islands are presented as a land of contrasts with a great variety of landscapes surrounded by mystical and mysterious mountains, exotic and wild vegetation, and a turquoise sea.
